Outreach - Families
The Outreach Team works along side children and adults with a developmental disability struggling with behavioural, social or emotional challenges. The support provided involves sharing information, exchanging ideas and working towards goals. This collaborative approach is based on the needs of the individual, family, and/or agency involved. We work to enhance and support the lives of individuals and their families who are living with a disability. The voluntary service provides one hour of inhome support on a weekly basis for up to six months and services are free of charge.
Community Support - Adults
This team currently provides long term support for adults to create safe, satisfying lives for themselves in the community. The team specializes in helping people who have particularly difficult lives due to struggles that come from living with a mental handicap and accompanying mental health or other social problem. By approaching challenges in innovative, positive, and highly personalized ways we are able to respect the unique needs and wishes of each person.
Journeys - Seniors
This group of specializes in supporting seniors as they move into new stages of life. Individualized or residential support with personal growth workshops, community development activities and travel.
Community Development - All ages / all abilities
The community development team specializes in working with communities to educate, advocate and engage people with grassroots initiatives to build awareness and dialogue around the issues facing people with disabilities. These activities include:
